Once upon a time... there was a little girl who believed she could fly. She knew it was possible because she had many dreams where she would be running to the edge of a cliff and, letting her arms float up and to the side of her shoulders, would gently lift into the air. Soon she was soaring high above the ground, feeling the warm breeze caressing her body as she moved and swayed over and around the clouds. She looked down and noticed how beautiful everything was, how connected and at peace… and she was overjoyed at the sight.

The dream reached into her waking moments so vividly that she even fashioned a “cape” from an old linen towel to help her reach the sky. From time to time, she would hear the Voice whispering things in her ear, giving her knowledge way beyond her earth years. She knew that this meant something special.

Whenever the Voice appeared, it made her feel wonderful, happy and in tune with everything in life. It was her Secret Friend when she was small, who graduated to a Guardian Angel a few years later and ended up being what she called simply, the Universe.

She reached a certain turning point when one bright summer day the Universe whispered in her ear, “Come this way,” they said, “Create a book of ‘Light.’”

“But I don’t know how,” she said in an apprehensive tone.

“We will be there every step of the way to guide you, protect and shelter you from life’s mishaps. Do this with our blessing.”

So she heeded the Voice and so began her life’s calling.

The book began very small, but shined a great Light. And when people read it, it touched their lives and their lights began to shine brighter. Little bright lights began popping up all over and soon the entire town was lit up like a giant candle. Everyone who was exposed to this bright ray began to feel better, smile more and glow from inside.

In time, as the book kept growing, the influence of the Light was spread far and wide. People clamored for the Light and, when they couldn’t find it, they felt sad. You see, they did not yet realize they had their own Source of Light. This was the grand mission of the book… to help them recognize their connection, to hook them up to it and to encourage them in their own personal journey.

This was the sacred vision the Voice had given to the little girl many years before.

The Voice would appear from time to time, whenever the now grown woman would begin to feel doubt or fear and would soothe her heart and ease her spirit. She always emerged from these sessions enlivened and more strongly committed to her purpose.

A few times, the Universe called for Quantum Leaps, some would call them “leaps of faith” that stretched her beyond her comfort zone. Yet, just when fear began to arise, she would recall what had happened the last time and there came the comforting, reassuring blanket of Knowing and she just KNEW that everything would be alright.

Then in the year 2006, the Voice again whispered that the world was ready for the next shift...

The new look of phenomeNEWS is being launched with this issue. As we approach our 28th year of publishing, we felt guided to take on a new “vibrational” design. The new look is like a natural face lift – without cosmetic surgery! We like the energy of this new Being coming into manifestation. We are excited about the future and look forward to soaring to new heights with you.

And the little girl inside the woman looked around and saw that all was well in her world… and she realized that she was flying.
