THE
HEART OF LOVE
Cherishing
Your Life Purpose
by Scott and
Shannon PeckWhy are
you here on Earth? Do you know? In answering this question, we are each
placed on a journey of great discovery – a journey of the soul.
Consider that DaVinci was
drawing pictures of a helicopter hundreds of years before one was
actually made. He was a master of living in the realm of infinite
possibilities.
Dr. Lawrence Doyle, a
former NASA physicist, has said that if you were to remove the digit 8
from the universe, reality as we now know it, would collapse. Each of us
is equally unique. We cannot be duplicated. As we express more of who we
are, we also change reality by sharing our highest gifts with the
universe. This is why it is so vital to get in touch with your highest
life purpose.
In order to cherish
your life purpose, look within and ask yourself these important and
stimulating questions:
• What am I most
passionate about?
• What is my biggest
dream?
• What do I most deeply
want in my life?
• What would I do with the
rest of my life if I knew I could not fail?
These questions send us
straight to the heart and cause us to tune in and listen intuitively.
About seven years ago, we
were sitting in our living room relaxing. After reading this amazing
question, “What would I do with the rest of my life if I knew I could
not fail,” we took a few moments to answer. Almost immediately, we
concluded, “Well, we’d start a Love Center and teach people to be Love
Masters.” This was a great surprise to us. We had never used the word
“Love Center” or “Love Masters” before. We walked down the hallway of
our home to a computer to see if
www.TheLoveCenter.com was available. Surely it wouldn’t be! But it
was.
Today, seven years later,
we write this column to you as the co-founders of TheLoveCenter, a
non-profit organization dedicated to raising universal love awareness
and awakening a world of Love Masters. This has become our primary and
deeply-fulfilling life purpose. And it all began by letting those
questions above stretch us into higher awareness.
Many wonder whether or not
they even have a life purpose. There is no doubt whatsoever that each of
us carries a life purpose. And the fulfillment of our purpose makes a
better world.
Whether we get in touch
with our life purpose through hardships, passion, talent, gifts or
intuition, we can begin right now to inquire within and become a knower
of this all important answer to the question, “Why am I here?”
Here are several ways to
cherish your life purpose.
First, begin to journal
about your life purpose. At the top of the page, write, “Cherishing my
life purpose.” Record your thoughts or feelings as you listen to your
inner voice that so wants to be heard. Hold an open space to be filled
so your deepest longing can become more visible and known to you in this
quiet, listening time. Journaling is a way of observing yourself, which
is also an ancient yoga practice of self study. It produces strong
results.
Secondly, write out your
highest life vision at this time. Don’t judge it. Don’t even hold
yourself accountable to it. Just open up to the possibility and see what
comes out of your innermost core thinking. Writing out your life vision
helps to bring it into form.
After you write it out,
begin to cherish it. Look at your vision as a living, creative
unfoldment which can change and grow. As you spend time writing out your
highest life vision, it needs your attention and encouragement to come
into greater clarity, without judgment.
Think of someone you know
who can hold your life purpose sacred with you and then share it with
that person. Speaking your vision helps to awaken the universe to become
active in helping you. While you’re doing this, tell your friend that
you would also like to cherish his or her life purpose as well. By each
of your cherishing, you will help to bring your vision forward through
your love and encouragement.
Cherishing, of course,
means you aren’t comparing your life purpose to others’ life purposes.
And you aren’t going into negativity with doubt, envy, frustration or
fear. You are merely enjoying and appreciating so deeply what you are
learning about yourself and the value of your life. See how much
compassion you can show to yourself and to your friend during this
process.
Finally, you are ready to
take action. Turn to the same inner voice that you source for all your
life’s guidance. Ask, “What one step would you guide me to take today?”
Again, don’t judge the step or how tiny it may be. Just find a way to
joyfully take the one little step and celebrate the fact that you are on
the journey of your life purpose. Welcome to the heart of love.
