Cindy's Editorial

He did it! Kyle MacDonald got his house!

I wrote about Kyle in my June 2006 editorial. As you may recall, Kyle is the guy who had an idea to use the incredible power of the Internet to get himself a house. That was his strong desire, to own his own house. And he wanted to do it his way, by trading up to it! So he started out with a red paperclip and put it on his blogsite  (www.oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com) and the games began. Soon people joined in the fun and began trading with him. In June, when I first heard about him, he had traded his way up from that single paperclip to a year of free rent in a Phoenix condo. Well, since then, there have been five more trades; the condo was traded for an afternoon with Alice Cooper, which fetched a Kiss snow globe which former L.A. Law star Corbin Bernsen snapped up in exchange for a role in the movie he is directing. That caught the attention of officials in the tiny town of Kipling, Saskatchewan, who – in search of publicity – offered MacDonald a house! He happily signed the deed to his 3 bedroom house exactly one year after he started the adventure!

I have had such great fun following Kyle’s story. And it is a wonderful example of how we can manifest anything into our lives. Kyle had a strong, singularly focused intention – to have his own house, debt-free. His focus was always on the end result. And, with all the joy he experienced and spread to others along the way, he kept himself in perfect vibrational alignment with his desire. And, according to the laws of manifestation, his desire came to him.

The message from my friend Abraham is the same. You want something. You keep focused on what you desire and your vibration will come into alignment with that desire and it is a sure thing that your desire will manifest for you. The Universe takes care of all the details. You don’t have to figure anything out. In fact, if you try to plan how something is going to happen, you will actually slow down the flow.

Years ago, Abraham said something that has become a sort of mantra for me. It’s the formula for manifesting a magnificent life. I wrote it on post-its and stuck it up everywhere – on my computer, in my car, at home – anywhere I would frequently be looking. It serves as a gentle reminder. Here are the words: “Get happy and stay happy!”

I was reminded again how this works recently while watching the re-runs of the World Series of Poker Tournament from 2005. One man at the final table, Steve Dannenmann, was a favorite of mine. He was always laughing and in a joyful mood. A friend had paid the $10,000 entry fee for him to play at the last minute. He was amazed that he had gotten this far in the tournament, beating out some 5,600 other people to reach the final table. At one point, he took out a little piece of paper from his pocket and read it. This was his reminder of why he was playing. The number one item on that piece of paper was, “Have fun!”

He ended up in second place, with prize money of $4.25 million! Now he can have even more fun!

The point here is that if you are doing what is fun, you are automatically in alignment with your natural flow. This flow contains everything you need in order to focus your intention on anything you desire in your life. I have seen it work time and time again.

So, if you want to have things work more elegantly for you in your life or if your current manifesting techniques aren’t working the way you want, try this approach. Start with one day. Just for one day, let go of your to-do lists, your analytical mind, your trying-to-figure-out-what-to-do thinking and do something just for “fun.” Immerse yourself in fun movies, activities, hang out with fun friends – anything that will keep you in that flow of joy. If you find your mind wandering some place else, taking you off track from your joy, gently guide it back. Then at the end of the day, thank the Universe for such a wonderful time and simply request, “More of these days, please! Thank you Universe!” Then watch what happens. More fun will begin to find you. You will seek and find people to “play” with you like Kyle did. And, best of all, ideas will flow about things you’ve been needing help with. Creativity and solutions are abundant when you are in the flow.

Now you know how. You have all the tools you need to manifest a fabulous life easily and effortlessly. And you didn’t even need a red paperclip!
