ON THE PATH...

thoughts along the way

Life is magical, mysterious,
wondrous, and miraculous.
Lose the magic, and you lose life.
It becomes dull and joyless.
When you have flashes of wonder,
That is the wizards touch.
– Deepak Chopra

We’ve all heard about the magical, enchanted stories of way back in medieval times about Merlin, King Arthur and his kingdom Camelot, Lady Guinevere, the knights of the round table, Sir Lancelot and the Holy Grail.

In our midst today is a story of a modern day Merlin and his true love and how they captured the Holy Grail.

Once upon a time

there was a baby boy named Robert who was born in Carmarthen, Wales, the birthplace of Merlin the Wise. (The name of the city even means “Town of Merlin.”) Robert was born 50 yards from Merlin’s sacred oak tree. Robert‘s parents raised him close to the sacred sites of Stonehenge, Avebury and Glastonbury. From a very early age, he continually sought after the spiritual and magical in life. He was sometimes a bit of a rascal, completely playful and always young at heart.

And on the other side of the ocean a beautiful baby girl of Scottish descent was born in Indiana. Her name was Jeanie. She always had a smile on her face, was a joy to everyone she met and she especially loved her dog, Mollie.

In his twenties, Robert went to India looking for God. He learned Vedic astrology and was initiated into the Brighu Yantra from which he gave life readings. He lived as a celibate monk for seven years, yet, knew that he had to find his soul mate. Destiny played a part in this meeting.

Robert planned a trip to Hawaii and was told by a psychic friend that he should meet a woman there named Jeanie. It didn’t happen.

Jeanie had been living in Hawaii for six years. She was born in Indiana and raised in Michigan. A kahuna (Hawaiian wise woman) urged her to return to Michigan for it would be there that she would meet her magical man. She was also told that if she was asked to attend an event on a Tuesday night after Christmas to be sure not to refuse. During her meditations on the beach in Hawaii, Jeanie kept getting more messages to go to Michigan. She said that she would travel to Michigan only if she could drive a green Ford Explorer. She flew back to Michigan for the winter holidays.

Robert was invited to his psychic friend’s home by the promise of one of his favorite foods – homemade canolis. Jeanie was scheduled to be there for him to give her an Eastern Indian reading. It was Tuesday evening, January 8th. When Robert walked in the door, Jeanie said it was like a huge thunderbolt struck her. A voice inside said, “Oh, it’s you.” Robert said aloud, “Oh, this is Jeanie!” There was an immediate connection. They were so comfortable together. Ironically, Robert’s 12-month reading to Jeanie said that she would meet a magical man in Michigan. He had no idea, at the time, that it would be himself. He asked if she was married. And she told him she was single.

Robert is the host of a weekly TV talk show and asked Jeanie to be on it to discuss spirituality and her book, “Angelic Affirmations for the Soul.” A few days after that, he called her asking her to go to the theater with him. She said “Yes.”

Robert had no idea that when he drove up in his green Ford Explorer, that this was the car she envisioned while in Hawaii! He even had Hawaiian music playing inside for Jeanie. She was absolutely thrilled. While dining at an Italian restaurant, Robert felt their bond and was impressed when Jeanie blessed her food. He thought, “Now, that's my kind of woman.” After dinner they went to the theater. Robert didn’t want the night to end so he invited Jeanie to a cinema. The movie was terrible, but it didn’t matter. They had fun anyway. They have been inseparable ever since.

Robert and Jeanie have been married for three of the twelve years they have been together. Robert told me that they’ve been like John and Yoko, always hanging out together.

Robert and Jeanie have traveled to England many times. He wanted to show her where he had grown up. They walked along the old cobblestone streets relishing the ancient sites and searching for the old world magic. On one trip, they went to Chalice Well Gardens in Glastonbury. Robert told me that Glastonbury is the “Holy of Holy places in England.” They decided to have a handfasting and it was magical. Jeanie and Robert stood at the Chalice Well and exchanged rings. Rainbows appeared in the sky after the ceremony. They then decided to go to Robert’s home where his mom and dad live. The license plate on the huge truck that drove in front of them read, “Merlyn’s Way.” They followed this truck as it led them right to Robert’s parents’ house!

Jeanie and Robert were married three years ago at Eternal Mother Temple in Pontiac, Michigan, where a traditional Vedic ceremony was performed. Practicing the spiritual life together brought beauty, magic and sacredness into their lives. Jeanie had found her “Magical Man.” and the Magical Man had found his true love. This was their destiny. They had found the Holy Grail which is Love.

On October 12th, 2007, Jeanie was taken to the hospital. She had bumped her head and developed a throat infection. After performing extensive tests and blood work, they found that she had leukemia.

Robert was by Jeanie’s side day and night. He continually played mantra’s and recited the holy names of God to her. Jeanie’s hospital room became a sacred temple. Cards sent by friends from around the world adorned the space. Jeanie’s favorite angels were brought from home to comfort her. Nurses commented that when they felt weary, they would go into Jeanie’s room to rest. One of the attending physicians commented, “I have never been with a more noble soul.”

On November 1st, All Saints Day, Jeanie made her transition into the light of God. Robert bathed her whole body in water from the Ganges River in India. He told me, “A light has gone out on the planet with Jeanie’s passing.” Robert called Jeanie his angel.

Jeanie’s smile would brighten a room. People were drawn to her because of her spontaneity and genuine caring. She loved life and loved being with people. She was compassionate, creative and loved to laugh. She truly was a blessing on earth.

Leo Buscaglia states: “It is difficult to part with such a positive force in life. But nothing is forever. In reality, we never lose the people we love. They become immortal through us. They continue to live in our hearts and minds. They participate in our every act, idea and decision. No one will ever replace them and, in spite of the pain, we are richer for all the years invested in them. Because of them, we have so much more to bring to our present relationships and all those to come.”

Robert and Jeanie have been part of the phenomeNEWS family for many years and have joyfully shared in our events and festivities.

Following is a poem written by Jeanie for her Magical Man entitled,
“At Last:”

From the very first date,
I knew it was destiny, kismet
or fate... that you were
to be my “Magical Mate.”
With chemistry and alchemy
we clicked, connected
and joined.
With GREAT joy, we were urged
by a force much larger
to be merged as “ONE.”
The predictions came true...
the gift of each other – True love –
A love from the past – it made
things seem so fast!!
“At Last”

Here are a couple of quotes from Jeanie’s book:

The magical ingredient to any success is love.
Many single candles lighted together illuminate a darkened room.
Joined together, our heart lights  will illuminate a darkened world.
See the gift in everyone.
Fly – be free
Spread those angel wings.

Share your love with those you meet and have a beautiful holiday season!

NOTE: The Jeanie McNeil Taylor Memorial Fund has been established to help cover Jeanie’s hospital expenses, etc. You can receive her book for $21.
