We are going through global warming and
I’m thrilled! Yes, you read it correctly. I’m thrilled. Oh, it’s not the
global warming that Al Gore speaks of in his movie An Inconvenient
Truth. It’s the slow but sure presence of love bursting out all over the
planet, the open, heart-centered experiences that make us all feel warm
inside. THAT’S the global warming I’m talking about!
So where is the evidence of this great
movement, you say? Well, it’s in the little news clips that sometimes
get buried among the dramatic headlines. It’s in the good news pieces
placed at the end of traditional news programs. It’s the upspringing of
numerous websites and webcasting radio programs that promote positive
possibilities and good stories. It’s expressed in the variety of books
coming out that express our joyful stories and heartfelt moments. Never
in history has there been such a leaning toward the things that truly
keep us connected at the deepest levels.
Why now, you ask? Is it because of the
acceleration of the planet? Is it because the old ways are no longer
working in every arena from ourworkplaces to our personal living
environments? Is it because we, as humans, are becoming more
responsible, and accountable for our actions and recognizing that we can
create change?
I say yes, it’s all of these things...
and more. I believe the time is now because a great awakening is
occurring from both within and without. We are experiencing earthquakes
inside our physical bodies as well as witnessing Mother Earth herself
shifting, growing, moving and expanding. Perhaps it’s always been like
this and we’ve never noticed. I have a suspicion that the things we’re
witnessing – on personal as well as planetary levels – are intensifying
to get our attention, to peak our interest, to invite inquiry. Such are
the signs I see with volumes being printed on what’s to come in our
future. I’ve seen many books come in from publishers that are pointing
to the future and offering up the author’s prognostications about what
it will look like and how we can best fit in.
I’ve also observed that the more chaos
is happening outside of us, the stronger the urge to get away, go
somewhere else. The best place to go is not a geographical location. It
is where it’s always been… that sanctuary inside. The wonderful peaceful
silence that invites us in, waiting ever so patiently, for us to decide
when we’ve had enough of the chaos of the outside world. This sanctuary
is not only our safe place, it is the only place where we can receive
the guidance and clarity on the what, when, where and how of our lives.
It alone is the answer.
So, on this most auspicious time in our
planet’s evolution, let’s consider taking up the sacred quest of
honoring and loving ourselves enough to re-discover that sanctuary
within because therein lies the most magnificent unconditional love you
will ever experience. It is then that we will have received the most
awesome gift to share with the world. This will be the global warming
that is truly meaningful.
