Synchronicity... I love how that word
sounds when it escapes the mouth in an outward symphony of audio waves.
Synchronicity.
I’ve written a few times about
synchronicity, the art of having things appear in wonderful relationship
to one another. Webster defines it as “simultaneous occurrence.”
I suggest another definition. This
would be for people who are on a spiritual journey and have come to the
realization that we are part of something grander that influences our
lives. This broader definition of synchronicity would be, “When you are
in the flow of the Divine, things line up to match your vibration.” It’s
akin to the metaphysical principle, what you think about expands. Or, as
my friend Abraham talks about... the Law of Attraction.
Just recently while clearing some
papers off my desk, I came across the phone number of a old friend that
I haven’t talked to in a couple of years. It brought to mind all the
wonderful times we had, the moments where we shared long, meaningful
conversations. I decided then and there to give Jo a call. A few days
later, before I made that call, I received a Christmas card from her.
Synchronicity.
I speak often of Abraham because the
information has been, for me, life changing. The basis of their
teachings is exploring the many ways that the Law of Attraction is at
work in our lives. It is the main law of this physical universe we live
in and to understand it is to have a very powerful key in knowing how to
create the reality you want.
On a recent tape, a woman asked Abraham
how she could “know” God. Here is an excerpt of how they answered this
question.
“Let’s say you are looking at someone
and you are finding fault with them in some way and you are feeling
negative emotion... it’s a discomfort in your belly. And the reason it’s
there is because you are choosing to view this person in a way that your
Source, your Inner Being, your Soul, your God is not choosing to look
at. In other words, you have separated yourself from that which is God.
And you can tell by the way you feel. You know in that moment that you
are doing something different than God would do because of the way you
feel.
“Now, you find a way to soften that.
You look at it in a different way. You try to release the thought... and
as you do, the stream begins moving you in a different direction... and
you feel softer about that person. You begin to look for the positive
aspects of that person. You begin to even like that person a little bit.
You begin to get to know that person. You begin to love that person. And
as you are loving and appreciating that person, you know God. You
haven’t heard the words of God. You have felt the vibration of God. You
allow yourself to vibrate the equivalent of God, which means you stop
complaining and start praising. You stop criticizing and start praising.
You stop looking for the worst of things and start looking for the best
of things. In other words, you reach for the thought that feels
better... that’s how you find God... that which you mean as God, that
Source energy, that pure positive energy, that loving expanding energy,
that fullness of All That Is, that pure perfect love. That vibration is
a vibration and you know it by achieving it within yourself.”
Just as the final words were coming
through the car speakers, I noticed what looked like a new bumper
sticker placed high on the trunk of the car directly in front of me. It
read, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you.” –God
I laughed out loud as a smile formed
and spread across my face from ear to ear, “God you are really good!
Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
The Universe is giving us signs daily,
providing us with clues on how we’re doing and what’s really important
in our lives. We just need to keep our eyes and ears open.
My first email program used to alert me
whenever I received a new message as it verbally announced, “You’ve got
mail!” I expect someday soon when we boot up our computers, we’ll hear,
“You’ve got God!”
Synchronicity. Don’t you just love it?
