JANUARY 2007
Happy New Year! I wish you
and your family the most prosperous and peaceful year ever. The major
planetary contact this month occurs on the 22nd – Jupiter in Sagittarius
squaring Uranus in Pisces. This relationship occurs three times this
year – in January, May and October. Jupiter in its own sign emphasizes
issues of expansion, relocation, travel, religion, global trade,
politics, philosophy, advertising, public relations, education and the
law. Uranus in Pisces supports social revolution – changes which need to
be made for the benefit of all society, sensitivity to the needs of
everyone and in particular help for those groups who are the least able
to help themselves. The square or 90-degrees between the planets,
creates stress due to the difference in the natures of the planets and
the signs in which they are transiting. In this case it is the stress
described by governments and leaders who desire expansion of their
domain based on their particular beliefs and the sometimes negative
results which the resulting actions create – destruction, death,
starvation, disease and fiscal irresponsibility. These issues will
confront the world on many levels throughout this year. The Sun in
Capricorn until the 20th supports issues relating to career, management,
business, leadership, organization, control, engineering, personal
restructuring and security. The Sun in Aquarius after the 20th supports
global, humanitarian, political, governmental, community and group
issues. It joins Mercury, Venus and Neptune as new leaders are
officially sworn in. Aquarius is the sign which rules technology,
computers, inventions and “thinking on your feet.” Hopefully Congress
will do this as they begin the year and pay more attention to
humanitarian needs than politicking.
Mercury
(communication, writing, contracts, commerce, workers) in Capricorn
until the 15th supports planning and arrangements in regard to career,
management, leadership, organization, business, security and timelines.
It joins the Sun and Venus in working on ideas of how to restructure the
work force after retirements and layoffs. Mercury in Aquarius supports
communication within groups, communities and governments. Aquarius
relates to global and humanitarian concerns. On the 30th Mercury enters
the shadow of the next retrograde cycle which spans from February 14th
to March 8th in Aquarius and Pisces. Between January 30th and February
14th an issue will arise or a transitional situation will begin which
relates to group, community or societal concerns as well as sensitivity,
service, creativity or those in need.
Venus (values,
money, social connections) in Capricorn until the 4th supports
organization, management, business, security and career. This is a time
to list your New Year’s resolutions based on your short and long-term
values as well as returning your home to a sense of control after the
holidays. Venus in Aquarius from the 4th to the 28th values
humanitarian, global, governmental, community and group concerns. Venus
in Pisces encourages volunteering, help for those in need, service and
creative arts. In preparation for spring cleaning, this is a good time
to give away items no longer in use.
Mars (initiation,
energy, aggression) in Sagittarius until the 16th energizes travel,
trade, education, legal matters, religion and philosophy. When Mars
meets Pluto on the 13th it supports anger and aggression based belief
systems. It could also increase accidents due to speed, taking chances
and having the attitude that one has more rights than others. Mars in
Capricorn after the 16th returns the populace to actions supporting
business, career, organization, management, security, control and
corporate restructuring.
Jupiter (expansion,
opportunity, optimism, travel, foreign trade, education, religion, legal
matters) transits 8 to 13 degrees Sagittarius where it will repeat from
June thru September. Jupiter will be in Sagittarius from November 2006
thru mid-December 2007. Jupiter in its own sign brings issues of and
opportunity thru travel, foreign countries, politics, religion, trade,
public relations, education and legal matters. Birthdays most affected
are November 30th-December 6th, May 29th-June 4th, August 31st-September
6th and February 27th-March 4th as well as companies or persons whose
charts have planets or angles from 8 to 13 degrees Sagittarius, Gemini,
Virgo or Pisces.
Saturn (structure,
foundation, responsibility) retrogrades from 24 to 22 degrees Leo where
it was in October/November and where it will be in July 2007. Saturn has
passed the middle degrees of Leo and has brought career changes and
shifts in responsibility to many Leos in addition to restructuring in
the house of the chart it rules or where planets in Leo are found. Leo
relates to royalty, leadership, performing, entertainment, children and
creative talents. During Saturn in Leo hobbies can be developed and
turned into businesses. This month’s transit most directly affects those
born August 15th-17th, February 11th-13th, November 15th-17th and May
13th-15th as well as those whose charts have planets or angles from 22
to 24 degrees Leo, Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio. Saturn’s last transit
thru Leo was 1975 to 1978. Review what was happening in your life about
30 years ago, during the half-cycle of 14-15 years (in Aquarius), the
quarter cycle of 7 years (in Taurus) and 21 years, the third quarter
cycle (in Scorpio) to understand what Saturn in Leo from July 2005 to
September 2007 will mean for you.
Uranus (freedom,
rebellion, surprise, invention technology) transits 11 to 12 degrees
Pisces, repeating where it was in March, April, September and October
2006. Most affected are birthdays of March 2nd-3rd, September 4th-5th,
December 3rd-5th and June 2nd-3rd as well as persons or companies whose
charts have planets or angles from 11 to 12 degrees Pisces, Virgo,
Gemini or Sagittarius. Between March 2006 and January 2007 they will
need freedom, experience chaos or make radical changes. Uranus will be
in Pisces until 2011 and supports social revolution. During 1920, the
start of the previous Uranus thru Pisces, Congress granted women the
right to vote. It was the “roaring 20s.” Uranus in Pisces supports
artistic creativity with innovation and intellect with sensitivity,
leading to modern ways of helping those in need and suggesting that the
only way that humanity will survive is by caring for each other and
doing what is best for all, addressing humanitarian and global issues
such as disaster relief and political decisions made for the good of the
masses, not just special interests and the wealthy.
Neptune
(sensitivity, inspiration, escapism, dreams, trust) transits 18 to 19
degrees Aquarius, repeating where it was in March, April, July and
August of 2006. Neptune relates to intangibles such as imagination,
inspiration, art, dance and creative writing as well as prayer, healing,
dreams and escapism. Birthdays most affected are February 7th-8th, May
8th-9th, August 10th-11th and November 10th-11th as well as charts with
planets or angles from 18 to 19 degrees Leo, Taurus, Aquarius or
Scorpio. During the retrograde of Neptune (May-October 2007) will be an
excellent time to release addictive habits, attitudes or behaviors.
Neptune transits bring a lack of focus or direction, a sense of drifting
or the inability to see a disappointment, betrayal, error or weakness
until it’s too late. It dissolves the past in order to make space for
the future. On the positive side this can be a time for healing, faith,
psychic insights and artistic creativity. Under Neptune in Aquarius you
can develop intuition, musical talents, practice meditation and pay more
attention to your own inner guidance. You may also need to watch your
back and balance faith with fact to see events clearly, not with wishful
thinking or being attached to the dream or vision of what you think
might have been.
Pluto (power,
control, resources, transformation) transits 27 to 28 degrees
Sagittarius, where it will repeat in June, July and November of 2007.
Most affected are birthdays around December 19th-20th, June 18th-19th,
March 18th-19th and September 20th-21st as well as charts with planets
or angles from 27 to 28 degrees Sagittarius, Gemini, Pisces and Virgo.
Between January and November of 2007 they will experience major changes
in life such as marriage, divorce, relocation and career/financial
challenges. These are times in life when counseling or therapy could be
required and self-awareness/motivational work necessary. Now that Pluto
has completed the 24th degree and is three-quarters of the way thru
Sagittarius, it has brought focus, transformation and paradigm shifts in
travel, education, travel, religion, politics and global trade.
Specific indications for the twelve signs are as
