phenomeNEWS: We’re very pleased to be talking to Linda and Terry Jamison today and to find out what it means to be psychically attuned with the person you were born with.

*Note: Linda and Terry’s answers are combined. They both answer as “we.” linda & terry jamison, THE PSYCHIC TWINS: We’re glad to be here.

Your book is so well-written and entertaining. You both have been through such a variety of experiences in your lives.

We have had the most amazing life. It’s been like a roller coaster ride. It’s an autobiography, actually. It’s called Separated at Earth and it is our life story. The last chapter is the psychic development chapter.

It reads like fiction. A lot of people cannot believe we actually lived such an outrageously varied and creative life. We’ve incarnated many times and reinvented ourselves over and over again, even in this one life. But it’s all true, absolutely true.

We started talking about what people would think are really catastrophic things. You were robbed a bunch of times and you’ve gone up and down with health challenges.

At one point, we had about six incurable illnesses all at the same time, including cancer. We weren’t really expected to survive. Doctors said you’ll be dead by 30. We’re now in our 50s. We’re walking miracles.

We really are and we’ve been called that, walking miracles, by doctors because we were so ill. But we carried on and did our work for many, many years. We’ve been psychics for 20 years and we’ve been involved in the metaphysical realm for 30 years. So this isn’t something that we just discovered we can do recently. We’ve been working on it every day.

Do you think that having all those other situations helped bring out your psychic abilities?

The reason we’re so psychic is because we embrace true Buddhism. We’ve been chanting every day for 23 years. If you chant for hours a day, that will make anybody psychic.

Did you both have your sicknesses and illnesses at the same time?

Yes. We had migraines that would last for months and months. We had fibromyalgia, an arthritic condition that affects the whole body. We had terrible pain, chronic fatigue. We had cancer.

We were diagnosed with cancer by two different doctors on the same day. Terry with skin cancer and I with cervical cancer.

It’s really a difficult road but it was kind of our life training. Now we’re medical intuitives for people all over the world who have been misdiagnosed. We were able to diagnose cancer that doctors had not seen, even in young people, who were then able to go on have tumors removed. So it’s been a blessing in a funny way, but a very painful life in many respects.

Do you think if one of you is somewhere else and someone came for a reading that you could do it yourself or do you have to have the other one as a battery?

That’s a good question. Actually, we do work independently of one another but most of our readings are together. We work pretty accurately individually, though.

How did you first discover that you had psychic abilities?

When I was about five-years-old, I walked into a school fair. There was a big jar of jelly beans. I said there were 557 beans in the jar and I won a prize because it was exactly that amount.

But you know, in those days, nobody talked about psychics. We were from a small little country town in rural Pennsylvania, about an hour outside Philadelphia. Nobody knew what psychics were, where we came from. So that gift wasn’t even acknowledged or encouraged. They thought it was a lucky guess. We had many such experiences in our childhood and growing up, but nobody really identified it as psychic per se. It was only in our 20s and 30s that we came to be aware that this was an unusual talent that we had and that later on we could help people all over the world with it .

You predicted the attacks on 9/11.

We’re the only psychics in the world that publicly predicted it. It was on Art Bell Radio Show in November of 1999.

Nobody took you seriously?

That was the most tragic part about it, is that we were pretty much ignored. It was like we were invisible, like we never predicted it. And then even after 9/11 happened, it was ignored and we weren’t allowed to talk about it on TV until this year, on the Dr. Keith Ablow Show.

He was the first one that gave us audience, a forum, to talk about that prediction. We were just dying to be able to share it, because seven years had gone by. It was pretty much ignored, except in the UK and Australia. We’re quite well known because over there, there’s more a history, a tradition and a reverence for this kind of ability.

Plus there’s more of a history with it. Here in America, there’s a lot of young souls and there’s still a lot of fear associated with the psychic gift.

We have to catch up with that.

Absolutely. And I think that people are catching up, but there’s still that receptivity we’d like to see, because it’s still associated with goblins and ghosts and scary things. People think psychics are only able to talk to the dead. We’re here to say, “No. We’re psychics for the living.” We’re able to help people with the here and now, with their lives, give them direction and purpose in their lives.

There’s only a handful of celebrity psychics on TV and they’re all mediums. We predict the future with reliable accuracy and we’re the only ones that have a documented track record of prediction. We will soon have a section on our website that will have all our world predictions and celebrity predictions.

Do you often get impressions about what’s going on worldwide?

We don’t focus so much on world predictions anymore because we do individual readings for people all day long. So that took a back seat to helping individuals.

But if there was something really monstrous coming down the pike, you’d probably get it?

Yes, we would. And we probably will be publishing various predictions, either in magazines or articles or talking about that. We do a lot of television and radio interviews, so we often will talk about that kind of thing if we get a sense.

A lot of people want to know if there’s a catastrophic earthquake coming in L.A. this month or this year. We’re not feeling it’s coming that soon. We’re feeling like it could be in a couple years. So we calm people down. A lot of people are moving out of state so they can avoid things like this, because they get caught up in the fear of it. We try not to encourage public fear, because I think that’s happening too much. People are kind of easily excited or instilled with that fear. It’s too negative. The public thinking has to shift. I think that we’re all buying into this, “Oh, my God! Something catastrophic is happening tomorrow, right in my neighborhood!” And we are here to say you don’t need to move out of state. You’re going to be fine.

How do you tune into this? Do you see visions and pictures in your mind’s eye? Do you hear a voice saying it?

Sometimes we get our information through automatic writing, past, present or future. We write it.

We do automatic writing. It’s kind of a rare thing. But it is like an illuminated manuscript the way it comes in.

It’s a method of divination not commonly used in our time period, but we have developed our own form of it. It looks quite beautiful, like Renaissance or Medieval manuscripts. We help people to find direction, find their unique gift to the world, help them discover their creativity, their passion, how they can be of service, relate past lives that are associated with their struggles in this life and how they might be blocking themselves.

We get very specific information through the automatic writing, but we also have vivid dreams. I had many, many dreams of the tsunami, for years before it occurred. I had nightmares about a giant tsunami coming and would catalog them.

Do both of you write or does one write and the other speak?

We both write and we’re both claircognizant, which means that we get the psychic impression or intuition like a thought or like a knowing. We are clairscentient as well. We feel things. We can almost feel somebody’s pain because we’re healing them. We work multi-dimensionally through our voices as well. It involves many levels and many dimensions, the way we work.

That’s intriguing! You mentioned your Buddhist background and that you use the chant Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. I (Cindy) do that chant and find that it creates a sense of centering and calmness.

That’s exactly why I chant. If I don’t chant, my whole day feels battered. I feel less connected.

When did you come across the chant?

In 1984. We first were introduced in New York and we were brought to a meeting and we received Gohonzon, which is the scroll that we chant to. We’ve introduced literally thousands and thousands of people to this Buddhist philosophy over the years. It’s a wonderful philosophy.

It adds to any practice you may have already. It’s quite beautiful and it really does answer some of the deeper questions of life that I think are quite misconstrued.

This chant is popping up all over. Tina Turner, for instance, when she was going through her traumatic times, turned to Buddhism and used this chant.

That’s funny, because we were just talking about her yesterday. Chanting really saved her life. It was kind of downplayed in the movie, but it made her who she is today. It saved her life and it got her out of that marriage. I really feel like it can be so transformational. It’s saved our lives many, many times.

There are probably many people in Los Angeles, because of its pace, who are turning to forms that will allow them to be more connected, more centered and find more peace.

A lot of celebrities chant, Patrick Duffy, John Astin, literally people all over the world chant.

(Editors note: Nam Myoho Renge Kyo expresses reverence for creation and helps one to get in touch with the Buddha nature that exists within each of us.)

Wonderful! They’ll catch on to it, too, because of your talking about it.

I think we’re the only Buddhist psychics who are publicly known.

Buddhist psychic twins! We love it! You are carving a new niche.

Thank you.

We love one phrase in your book that was especially meaningful: “We were in rhythm with the universe.” That was so beautiful! If more of us were in rhythm with the universe, wouldn’t that say something for humankind?

That’s why we chant, because it puts you in rhythm. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is like the sound of the universe, the music of the universe and all living things, all phenomena.

People are so busy about becoming human doings in this life and we try to bring them back to a sense of their core, who they really are and a sense of being centered, a centered self. Not self-centered, but having a centered, core self so they can feel safer in this world and see more clearly.

How long to you meditate per day? You do it twice a day, right?

Yes. We chant on the average about half an hour in the morning and a half an hour in the evening. Sometimes more. Sometimes an hour in the morning. It depends on what we’re facing. Our mother has Alzheimer's so we’re going through a lot of challenges with that now. We sometimes chant a little bit more to really arm ourselves with a deeper sort of strength, going out into the world.

You get your impressions through automatic writing. Do you teach that others can do this? Would you suggest this for those who want to open up?

Automatic writing is not something that a lot of people find easy to do. There’s a lot of scribbling and symbols but I don’t think that too many people would find that easy to do. It’s not something that resonates with everyone.

How could people who want to open up, open up even more?

We always say that meditation is the key. That’s the place to start, some kind of grounded meditation or yoga or a moving meditation like Tai Chi or martial arts. We always encourage people to meditate because I think that, in order to attune to our higher selves, our spirit guides, our angels and higher knowing, we really need to start by slowing down.

And I also think that it’s important to connect with nature on a daily basis if possible. Take your shoes off. Walk in the park. Walk on a grassy lawn and connect with earth energy. And find something creative to do. Find a creative passion or hobby, whether it’s dancing or gardening or cooking or photography or crafts that you can enjoy. It helps you to tune into a deeper joy and bring out a sense of calmness and relaxed presence in your life so you can make better choices.

Do you both still have time to do your creative projects?

Not a lot of time, because we are currently developing a TV show and a film based on our book. The business of things in Hollywood gets very hectic at times and we get 300,000 hits on our website every month. We don’t have as much time as we’d like.

Well, congratulations on the book and the TV show. We can’t wait!

Thank you very much. We also want to take our automatic writing into a new dimension. We did this show, Trading Spaces, where they took our automatic writing and made it into giant wall presentations with Plexiglas, mounted as pieces of art. That’s something we want to do, too.

Doing Trading Spaces sounds like a lot of fun.

It was so much fun. We loved working with those people and we had so much fun decorating this apartment in Beverly Hills. It was a great experience.

In the book, you mention writing your feelings down in a journal every day, in the morning and at night. Also, a book of blessing, a blessings journal of what you’re thankful for and how that helps you.

Yes. I think that is so important. A grateful heart attracts great things. The more we’re grateful, the more we attract what we want. I love the movie, The Secret, by the way. We’re big on the Law of Attraction.

It’s important to take action. You can’t have that kind of magical thinking, that if we just think about it we’re going to get it. It isn’t enough to think about it. You need to follow up with committed action. A lot of action based on your dreams and desires.

We try to educate people, too and give them tools to first of all, put them at ease so they can see more clearly, write about their dreams, write about their impressions. Everybody has intuition. We teach people to trust their impressions, their intuitions, show them that they can protect themselves with meditation techniques and prayer and white light and come to trust their own wisdom and knowledge, to look at something from a new perspective.

What spirit guides and angels do you work with?

We are part of an angelic realm known as One. I think out of 100 members of the realm of One, we’re two of four living in human incarnation on earth. We work with the realm of One and that’s how we get our information and access the Akasha or Akashic Records. We also have other spirit guides that come in. If we’re reading for you, we’ll connect with your spirit guides.

Who has influenced you, moving forward in your spiritual studies?

We’re spirit taught. We taught ourselves, ladies, we didn’t really study this with anyone. We have been influenced by some wonderful authors. We did study traditional mediumship briefly with two wonderful mediums from the Arthur Findlay College. That’s a really neat college that I recommend to people.

We were influenced by people like Rosemary Altea, people who come off more sincere and caring with the work. We tend to be more with those who are perhaps lesser known, but come from a high-intention place.

People always mention that we seem like we’re the real thing because we have an authenticity, a caring for people, a compassion for people. That’s what we want to be known for, if anything.

We were also very encouraged by Esther Hicks.

They’re friends of ours, Jerry and Esther Hicks!

I feel like they are largely responsible for getting the Law of Attraction out there.

Absolutely!

They should be credited a lot more than they are.

In the early 80s I was interested in the Jane Roberts material, the Seth material. That triggered my interest in it. We had an intuitive healer that we worked with in New York that was instrumental in getting us to appreciate and honor the gift that we have.

We’ve worked with various people along the way who have triggered opening up of our abilities. But by and large we are self-taught.

If you go to a traditional teacher or school, it ends up being like a birthday cake. Happy birthday! Everybody’s learning the same techniques and you can become reliant on that to the point where it lops off real intuition.

Do you think that all twins are psychic, that they have an intuitive bond that they can connect with at all times?

No, we don’t. We don’t think all people are psychic and we don’t think all twins are. We think that some twins have flashes of intuition with each other, but that isn’t typical of every set of twins.

People think that all twins are psychic and we have to say no. We’re the only twins in the world that are psychic for everyone, for other people, regardless of where they are in the world. We can do a reading for them that is very spot-on accurate.

How can people get in touch with you if they want to schedule a reading?

Actually, we have closed our waiting list for now, because we have to work our way through thousands of people. We’ve had so many recent airings of our TV shows, we’ve got thousands of emails. If people go to our website, psychictwins.com, we’d be happy to add them to our mailing list.

What else do you have in the works?

We have a self-help series coming out later this year or early next year. It’s going to be a book series on psychic development. We have a lot of ideas already and we’re starting to write it now. I think that will be quite popular, because everybody wants to learn how they can develop their own abilities, connect to their guides and angels and get better information from other realms.

How can people get your book?

The best way is amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com. They can go to our website for the links.

If you had some last words of wisdom that you would like to leave with us, what would they be?

We really want people to get the message that you need to trust yourself. Trust the messages that you’re given. Don’t dismiss them. Everyone wants to say, “Oh I get things, but then I just think it’s my imagination.”

Trust your heart, follow your heart. Follow the messages that your spirit guides and angels want you to hear and make time for it.

Everyone has their own unique way of seeing, hearing, feeling, sensing something. Psychic has its own language and it’s almost like learning a foreign language. It takes practice and study to learn how to develop and interpret the messages, the symbols, the phrases, the impressions that are coming in. It’s scary if you don’t understand it at first, but anything that has an unknown quality is kind of threatening to people. We want to say that you can shine a flashlight on it as you learn not to be afraid of it. Start writing about it, pay attention to the impressions, the messages that are coming in and trust it more.

Practice and make it fun, almost like a game. I think then that it’s easier to get impressions. If you lighten up and have fun, laugh and dance and listen to music, you’re going to be more psychic. It’s not about being right all the time. Just come from a heart-centered place. There are no right answers. Just learn to trust yourself and open up to the gentle messages. Spirit is all about open heartedness, communion, trust and gentleness. It’s a subtle, sweet energy.

Wonderfully said! Thank you.
