Star Gazing (Astrology)

JUNE 2006

This month the Nodes change from Aries/Libra where they have been since December 2004 to Pisces/Virgo where they will be until December 2007. The last Pisces/Virgo cycle began in December of 1987. Aries/Libra represents the self vs. others, independence vs. cooperation. Pisces/Virgo is about service, dedication, collective vs. special; being prepared vs. “going with the flow.” The major planetary relationship this month is the square (stress) between Jupiter in Scorpio and Saturn in Leo. This is the second of three instances of this square. The first was on December 17th, 2005 and the third will be on October 25th 2006. Jupiter and Saturn are the business planets, so this could be an important financial day. It has more emphasis because Mars joins Saturn at the same degree and Venus opposing Neptune is close to creating a grand cross (make it or break it) configuration with Mars, Saturn and Jupiter. In addition because Jupiter is retrograde works, feelings and actions can be blown out of proportion. There is a strong implication of anger, aggression and impulsive action which could be taken by leaders. The Sun in Gemini until the 21st supports communication, socializing, study, training, vehicles, short trips and errands. This is the time for graduations, vehicle cruises, weddings and parties. The Sun’s entry into Cancer on the 21st is the summer solstice. This is a time to honor the warmth of the Sun, enjoyment of good weather and the ability to grow crops and flowers.

Mercury (communications, writing, contracts, commerce) in Gemini until the 3rd supports conversation, debate, brainstorming, sales, visiting, exchange of ideas and working with hands. Geminis enjoy the “mental gymnastics” of argument rather than aggression. They want to see the other person’s reaction and response. They are flexing their mental muscles and exercising the brain. Mercury in Cancer from the 3rd to the 28th thinks of home, family, security needs, food and emotional connections. Travel to visit family and having more time to spend with family members is supported by this combination. Mercury in Leo after the 28th thinks of performing, sales, entertaining, children and sports. On the 17th Mercury enters the shadow of the next retrograde which spans from July 4th to the 28th. Between June 17th and July 4th an issue will be brought up which needs review and consideration during July. The retrograde of Mercury is also a time of transition, such as packing to move, reorganizing office and home space or testing computer programs.

Venus (values, money, social connections) in Taurus until the 23rd supports beautification, improvement, rehabilitation and decorating. It relates to land development, flowers, plants and gardens. Venus in Gemini after the 23rd supports communication at social gatherings such as graduations, weddings and family parties. In Gemini, Venus can be fickle or indecisive. Even some people who are in comfortable relationships can be hesitant to commit to one person because Gemini likes variety. Hang in there until late July when Venus moves into Cancer and Mercury goes out of retrograde.

Mars (initiation, energy, aggression) in Cancer until the 3rd supports action for security, home, country, money and food. It is motivated by emotional connections with others such as children, parents and other family members as well as friends for whom we have special feelings. It expends energy to create security in life regarding a home, family, finances and food. Mars in Cancer extends to the “family” of community, country, unions and political groups. Since Mars rules anger and aggression, warfare and fighting for the family, country and ideals you are trying to protect are part of this combination. Mars in Leo after the 3rd lends energy to sales, performing, sports events, entertaining and events with children.

Jupiter (expansion, opportunity, optimism, travel, foreign trade, education, religion, legal matters) retrogrades from 10 to 9 degrees Scorpio, repeating where it was in December 2005 and where it will be in July and August 2006. Jupiter in Scorpio is a cycle of opportunity, freedom, expansion or movement for those born November 1st-3rd, August 1st-3rd, January 29th-31st and April 29th-May 1st as well as persons or companies whose charts have planets or angles from 9 to 10 degrees Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius. In Scorpio, Jupiter supports opportunity thru motivation, commitment, sharing resources, saving, paying off debt, fiscal responsibility and supporting the passions and talents which make you unique.

Saturn (structure, foundation, responsibility) transits 7 to 10 degrees Leo, repeating where it was in September/October 2005 and January/February 2006. Saturn has brought career shifts and changes in responsibility to Leos as well as restructuring in the house of the chart it rules or where planets in Leo are found. Leo relates to royalty, leadership, entertainment, performing, children and creative talents. During Saturn in Leo hobbies can be developed and turned into home or public businesses. This month’s transit most directly affects those born July 30th-August 2nd, April 27th-30th, October 30th-November 2nd and January 27th-30th as well as those whose charts have planets or angles from 7 to 10 degrees Leo, Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio. Saturn’s last transit thru Leo was 1975 to 1978. Review what was happening in your life about 30 years ago, during the half-cycle of 14-15 years (in Aquarius), the quarter cycle of 7 years (in Taurus) and 21 years, the third quarter cycle (in Scorpio) to understand what Saturn in Leo between July 2005 and September 2007 will mean for you.

Uranus (freedom, rebellion, surprise, invention technology) transits 14 degrees Pisces where it will repeat in July 2006 and March 2007. It turns retrograde on the 19th. Birthdays most affected are March 5th, June 5th, September 7th and December 6th-7th as well as persons or companies whose charts have planets or angles around 14 degrees Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius. Between July 2006 and March 2007 they will need freedom, experience chaos or make radical changes. Uranus will be in Pisces until 2011 and supports social revolution. During 1920, the start of the previous Uranus thru Pisces, Congress granted women the right to vote. It was the “roaring 20s.” Uranus in Pisces supports artistic creativity with innovation and intellect with sensitivity, leading to modern ways of helping those in need and suggesting that the only way that humanity will survive is by caring for each other and doing what is best for all, addressing humanitarian and global issues such as disaster relief and political decisions made for the good of the masses, not just special interests and the wealthy.

Neptune (sensitivity, inspiration, escapism, dreams, trust) retrogrades at 19 degrees Aquarius, repeating where it was in April and May and where it will be in February 2007 as well as September to December of 2007. Neptune relates to intangibles such as art, imagination, inspiration and creative writing as well as prayer, healing, dreams and escapism. Birthdays most affected are February 8th, May 9th-10th, August 12th and November 11th-12th as well as charts with planets or angles around 19 degrees Taurus, Leo, Aquarius or Scorpio. During the retrograde of Neptune (May thru October 2006) is a good time to release addictive habits, attitudes or behaviors. Neptune transits bring a lack of focus or direction, a sense of drifting or the inability to see a betrayal, disappointment, error or weakness until it’s too late. On the positive side this can be a time for healing, faith, psychic insights and artistic creativity. Under Neptune in Aquarius you can develop musical talents, practice meditation, intuition and inner guidance. But you may also need to watch your back and balance faith with practicality and fact to see events clearly, not with just wishful thinking or remaining attached to the dream or vision of what you think might have been.

Pluto (power, control, resources, transformation) retrogrades at 25 degrees Sagittarius, repeating where it was in January 2006 and where it will be in November 2006 for the last time at this degree. Birthdays influenced most are December 17th-18th, June 16th-17th, March 15th-16th and September 17th-18th as well as charts with planets or angles around 25 degrees Virgo, Pisces, Sagittarius and Gemini. From January thru November 2006 they will experience major changes in life such as career, relocation, marriage, divorce or financial problems. Counseling or therapy could be required and self-awareness/motivational work found very valuable. Pluto has passed the 24th degree and is now three-quarters of the way thru the sign of Sagittarius, bringing transformation and paradigm shifts in education, travel, religion, politics and global trade.
