Passion… I love that word. That one word
conveys so much. There’s something about people with passion.
I’m a big fan of Martha Stewart. Now,
here’s a woman with passion. When she had to do her time in prison, she
did it with grace. Martha used it as an opportunity to empower others by
helping and encouraging them to discover and then follow their passion.
She created a talk about it and even sat down with them to talk about
their dreams, plans and hopes to start businesses when they returned
home. This led to the inspiration for her new book, The Martha Rules.
Passion is very important in any phase of
life. As Martha says, “Passion is the first and most essential
ingredient for planning and beginning a business or for starting and
satisfactorily completing any worthwhile project. Without passion, work
is just work, a chore… When work is based on passion, it does not feel
like work – it feels fulfilling and empowering, far more about creating,
building, devising, initiating, leading and serving than about simply
moving through one task and on to another.”
Can you feel the power in her words… can
you feel her passion?
Tony Robbins is another dynamo. His
passion became ignited when he realized that he was meant for greater
things. He read the stories and studied the histories of many successful
people then began to model his life after them. He was passionate about
succeeding. And once he manifested success in his life, he felt a
responsibility. It is said that to whom much is given, much is expected.
Tony felt compelled to share his story. He wanted to empower others in
the same way he became empowered.
Gerri and I attended one of his events a
few years ago. He was simulcasting live from California to select movie
houses all over the US. We knew we were in for a treat. Upon entering,
we were each given a square piece of wood. During his talk, he
instructed us write on one side whatever we wanted to release in our
lives, anything that we felt was blocking our success. On the reverse
side, we wrote the things we wanted to invite in – our hopes, dreams,
aspirations.
As the night went on, he talked to us
about passion and bringing the juice back into your life. The air was
electric, the high energy was palpable… you could feel the excitement
growing. Anticipation was mounting and we knew we were on the brink of
something incredible.
After the intermission, Gerri and I teamed
up for the board exercise. I went first. As Gerri held up my board with
the side listing the things I was ready to release facing me, I took a
deep breath, focused on my intention and in one smooth thrust of my arm,
the open palm of my hand passed right through the board, splitting in in
half! No effort, no pain, no resistance. It almost fell apart on its
own.
The point of the exercise was that you can
do anything you set your focus on. You can break through any barriers,
whether in the physical world or still in your mind. And all it takes is
the willingness. The passion arises out of your strong desire.
Living a life of passion is living a life
in sync with the Universe. Things will come into your environment as if
by magic because they are drawn there through the vibration you are
putting out.
We live in a vibrational universe and the
signal we are sending out is attracting to us that which is in
vibrational harmony. As you think, so you are, or in this case, as you
think so you will attract. So it all begins with your thoughts. These
thoughts then create a feeling response which makes you vibrate. Then
the rest is automatic. Everything that is in resonance with you will
appear effortlessly. Trust me, this is how it really works!
So, now the big question remains…. are you
ready to get on with your life in a big, passionate way? Are you ready
for all the success, love, health, vibrancy and good things that you’ve
always desired?
You are more powerful than you know. You
have something wonderful to share with the world. Life is juicy and
sweet. Discover your passion.
As Martha says, “It’s a good thing!”
