Star
Gazing (Astrology)
March 2007
A major planetary contact
this month occurs on the 16th – Saturn in Leo trine Jupiter in
Sagittarius. This will occur again on May 6th. Saturn is the planet of
responsibility, structure, management, security, control, career and
consolidation. Leo is the sign of leadership, performance, entrepreneurs
and creative talents. Jupiter is the planet of opportunity, travel,
education, foreign countries and global concerns. Sagittarius is the
ruling sign of Jupiter and emphasizes all of these issues. The trine
(120 degree relationship) is positive but depends on the choices which
are made by leadership and chances which are taken. There are also two
eclipses this month: A Lunar Eclipse at 12 Virgo on the 3rd and a Solar
Eclipse at 28 Pisces on the 18th. In ancient times eclipses related to
the rise and fall of leaders as well as fateful events. The Pisces/Virgo
eclipses relate to dedicated service, sensitivity to the needs of others
and volunteering vs. properly preparing, doing what is practical and
attention to health and well-being. Sending more troops to Iraq would
certainly fall under this energy. Eclipses focus attention on issues in
the chart. How they will manifest for you depends on the houses of the
chart in which they occur. (See Sun Signs for individual indications.)
The Sun in Pisces until the 20th supports the Solar (New Moon) eclipse
energy of sensitivity, service, art, music, dance, dedicated
professions, volunteering, escape, intuition, meditation, illusion, help
for those in need, dreams and “going with the flow.” The Sun in Aries
after the 20th supports independence, pioneering, action, aggression and
selfishness. “Just do it” is an Aries mantra.
Mercury (communication,
writing, contracts, commerce, workers) retrogrades in Aquarius until the
18th where it goes direct on the 7th at 25 degrees. Mercury in Aquarius
supports communication within groups, communities, governments and among
friends. Mercury in Pisces after the 18th communicates with sensitivity,
service, caring, need and creativity. It can also relate as “Cinderella”
or a victim. Mercury turned retrograde on February 14th, Valentine’s
Day. (You might want to wait until Easter to offer an engagement ring.)
Between January 30th and February 14th was the “entry shadow” of the
retrograde. During that time an issue arose or transitional situation
began which relates to group, community or societal concerns as well as
sensitivity, service, creativity or those in need. During the
retrograde, from February 14th to March 8th, this issue is worked on or
transition in process. The completion phase spans from March 8th to the
28th when agreements can be finalized, details confirmed and transition
can be completed. During a retrograde it is best not to make major
purchases, agree to long-range or expensive plans of action or sign
contracts. It is a good time to organize, catch up or review prior
contacts.
Venus (values, money,
social connections) in Aries until the 17th values taking care of
yourself, reviewing your values and doing what you need to acknowledge
and affirm a sense of self-esteem. Venus in Taurus after the 17th
supports beautification, improvement and working with the land, plants
and earth. Venus in Taurus is also a time to review your values in
regard to relationships, associations and using your talents in your
career.
Mars (initiation, energy,
aggression) in Aquarius all month supports humanitarian, community,
group and political goals. Since most of March will be under the Mercury
retrograde influence and its exit shadow, attempts to move forward and
take action could be blocked, frustrated or delayed until late in the
month.
Jupiter (expansion,
opportunity, optimism, travel, foreign trade, education, religion, legal
matters) transits from 17 to 19 degrees Sagittarius where it will repeat
in April, May and October. Jupiter will be in Sagittarius from November
2006 thru mid-December 2007. Jupiter in its own sign brings issues of
and opportunity thru education, travel, foreign countries, politics,
religion, trade, public relations and legal matters. Birthdays most
affected by these degrees are December 10th-11th, June 9th-11th,
September 10th-12th and March 8th-10th as well as companies or persons
whose charts have planets or angles from 17 to 19 degrees Sagittarius,
Gemini, Virgo or Pisces.
Saturn (structure,
foundation, responsibility) retrogrades from 20 to 18 degrees Leo where
it was in September 2006 and will be in May/June 2007. Saturn has passed
the middle degrees of Leo and has brought career changes and shifts in
responsibility to many Leos in addition to restructuring in the house of
the chart it rules or where planets in Leo are found. Leo relates to
royalty, leadership, performing, entertainment, children and creative
talents. During Saturn in Leo hobbies can be developed and turned into
businesses. This month’s transit most directly affects those born August
11th-13th, February 7th-9th, November 11th-13th and May 9th-11th as well
as those whose charts have planets or angles from 18 to 20 degrees Leo,
Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio. Saturn’s last transit thru Leo was 1975 to
1978. Review what was happening in your life about 30 years ago, during
the half-cycle of 14-15 years (in Aquarius), the quarter cycle of 7
years (in Taurus) and 21 years, the third quarter cycle (in Scorpio) to
understand what Saturn in Leo from July 2005 to September 2007 will mean
for you.
Uranus (freedom, rebellion, surprise, invention technology) transits 14
to 16 degrees Pisces, repeating where it was from May to July of 2006.
Most affected are birthdays of March 5th-7th, June 5th-7th, September
7th-9th and December 6th-8th as well as persons or companies whose
charts have planets or angles from 14 to 16 degrees Pisces, Virgo,
Gemini or Sagittarius. Between May 2006 and March 2007 they will need
freedom, experience chaos or make radical changes. Uranus will be in
Pisces until 2011 and supports social revolution. During 1920, the start
of the previous Uranus thru Pisces, Congress granted women the right to
vote. It was the “roaring 20s.” Uranus in Pisces supports artistic
creativity with innovation and intellect with sensitivity, leading to
modern ways of helping those in need and suggesting that the only way
that humanity will survive is by caring for each other and doing what is
best for all, addressing humanitarian and global issues such as disaster
relief and political decisions made for the good of the masses, not just
special interests and the wealthy.
Neptune (sensitivity,
inspiration, escapism, dreams, trust) transits 20 to 21 degrees
Aquarius, where it was in July/August 2007 and January 2008. Neptune
relates to intangibles such as imagination, inspiration, art, dance and
creative writing as well as prayer, healing, dreams and escapism.
Birthdays most affected are February 9th-10th, May 11th-12th, August
13th-14th and November 13th-14th as well as charts with planets or
angles from 20 to 21 degrees Leo, Taurus, Aquarius or Scorpio. During
the retrograde of Neptune (May-October 2007) will be an excellent time
to release addictive habits, attitudes or behaviors. Neptune transits
bring a lack of focus or direction, a sense of drifting or the inability
to see a disappointment, betrayal, error or weakness until it’s too
late. It dissolves the past in order to make space for the future. On
the positive side this can be a time for healing, faith, psychic
insights and artistic creativity. Under Neptune in Aquarius you can
develop intuition, musical talents, practice meditation and pay more
attention to your own inner guidance. You may also need to watch your
back and balance faith with fact to see events clearly, not with wishful
thinking or being attached to the dream or vision of what you think
might have been.
Pluto (power, control,
resources, transformation) transits 28 degrees Sagittarius, where it
will repeat in April and December 2007 and in July, August and October
2008. Most affected are birthdays around December 21st, June 20th, March
19th and September 22nd as well as charts with planets or angles around
28 degrees Sagittarius, Gemini, Pisces and Virgo. Between April 2007 and
the fall of 2008 they will experience major changes in life such as
marriage, divorce, relocation, and career/financial challenges. These
are times when counseling or therapy may be required and
self-awareness/motivational work necessary. Now that Pluto has completed
the 24th degree and is three-quarters of the way thru Sag, it has
brought focus, transformation and paradigm shifts in travel, education,
travel, religion, politics and global trade. Specific indications for the twelve signs are as
follows:
