Gazing (Astrology)
NOVEMBER 2006
The intense energy of this
month is incredible and frustrating. Five of the ten planets (Sun,
Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Mercury retrograde) are in the sign of Scorpio
until the 17th when Venus enters Sagittarius. This is called a stellium
– three or more planets together in the same sign. Scorpio is the sign
of power and the means to wield it – money, investment, manipulation,
research, aggression, force, crime, detective work and sex. The days
leading up to Election Day, November 7th, as well as the day itself,
will certainly reflect this intensity. Mercury will be retrograde and
the Moon will be in Gemini. This combination portends very close races,
requests for recounts and mechanical problems with voting machines. At
this writing there is information that nuclear tests have begun in
Korea. As mentioned in October’s article, there will be one or more
instances similar to the Lebanese situation during July’s retrograde
cycle. Mercury went retrograde as Jupiter went direct, supporting wrong
decisions and extreme reaction. When Mercury left the retrograde
influence in late August, there was cessation of aggression. If there is
any resolution of the Korean situation, it will take until mid-December
to achieve it. The Sun in Scorpio until the 22nd supports passion and
motivation as well as finances, shared resources, investments and sex.
Scorpio can also represent the highest expression of spiritual
commitment. The negative expression is the misuse of power, aggression,
force, manipulation, crime and society’s “underworld.” The Sun in
Sagittarius after the 22nd focuses energy on enjoyment of the holidays
as well as travel, foreign countries, language, global issues, politics,
public relations and legalities.
Mercury
(communication, writing, contracts, commerce, workers) retrogrades in
Scorpio where it turns direct on the 17th at the 9th degree of Scorpio.
On the 9th of October, the day it was announced that Korea began nuclear
testing, Mercury entered the “shadow” of the retrograde when an issue
began to take shape on which to work; or a transition occurred between
October 28th and November 18th during the retrograde. From November 18th
to December 5th is the completion phase during which agreements can be
finalized, details completed and situations resolved. During the
retrograde it is best to avoid major purchases, commit to long-range
agreements and take aggressive actions. Mortgages and construction
projects are particularly vulnerable as well as aggressive or warlike
actions. Correct thinking is unlikely and pertinent information is not
available or the agreeing parties could change their minds.
Venus (values, money,
social connections) in Scorpio until the 17th values passion,
motivation, investment and finances. It can be obsessive, particularly
in combination with Jupiter, Mercury and Mars. It can be driven and
powerful or positively resourceful. Venus in Sagittarius after the 17th
values beliefs, expansion, travel, religion, education, sports, nature,
animals and fun.
Mars (initiation,
energy, aggression) in Scorpio all month can be quietly intense or
outwardly pushy. Combined with Venus, Jupiter and Mercury (see Mercury
retrograde) the energy can be passionate and driven. The down side of
this energy can be angry, aggressive and destructive – stopping at
nothing to achieve an objective. How it is used depends on how the
person or group is motivated.
Jupiter (expansion,
opportunity, optimism, travel, foreign trade, education, religion, legal
matters) completes Scorpio from 24 to 29 degrees, enters Sagittarius on
the 24th to the 1st degree of Sag by 11/30. Jupiter in Scorpio (10/25/05
to 11/24/06) was a cycle of opportunity thru proper resource management.
Jupiter in its own sign brings issues of travel, trade, religion,
foreign countries, politics, public relations, education and legal
matters. These degrees most affect those born November 17th-24th, May
15th-22nd, August 17th-25th and February 13th-20th as well as persons or
entities whose charts have planets or angles from 24 Scorpio to 1 Sag,
24 Taurus to 1 Gemini, 24 Leo to 1 Virgo and 24 Aquarius to 1 Pisces.
Jupiter in Scorpio brought opportunity thru commitment, sharing,
discharging debt and fiscal responsibility.
Saturn (structure,
foundation, responsibility) transits 23 to 25 degrees Leo where it will
repeat in December 2006 as well as January and July of 2007. Saturn has
now reached the middle of Leo and has brought career shifts and changes
in responsibility to many Leos as well as restructuring in the house of
the chart it rules or where planets in Leo are found. Leo relates to
royalty, leadership, entertainment, performing, children and creative
talents. During Saturn in Leo hobbies can be developed and turned into
businesses. This month’s transit most directly affects those born August
16th-18th, February 12th-14th, November 16th-17th and May 14th-16th as
well as those whose charts have planets or angles from 23 to 25 degrees
Leo, Aquarius, Taurus and Scorpio. Saturn’s last transit thru Leo was
1975 to 1978. Review what was happening in your life about 30 years ago,
during the half-cycle of 14-15 years (in Aquarius), the quarter cycle of
7 years (in Taurus) and 21 years, the third quarter cycle (in Scorpio)
to understand what Saturn in Leo from July 2005 to September 2007 will
mean for you.
Uranus (freedom,
rebellion, surprise, invention technology) retrogrades at 10 degrees
Pisces, repeating where it was in March and where it will repeat in
December 2006. Uranus turns direct on the 20th. Most affected are
birthdays around March 1st, September 3rd, December 3rd and June 1st as
well as persons or companies whose charts have planets or angles around
10 degrees Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sag. Between March 2006 and January
2007 they will need freedom, experience chaos or make radical changes.
Uranus will be in Pisces until 2011 and supports social revolution.
During 1920, the start of the previous Uranus thru Pisces, Congress
granted women the right to vote. It was the “roaring 20’s”. Uranus in
Pisces supports artistic creativity with innovation and intellect with
sensitivity, leading to modern ways of helping those in need and
suggesting that the only way that humanity will survive is by caring for
each other and doing what is best for all, addressing humanitarian and
global issues such as disaster relief and political decisions made for
the good of the masses, not just special interests and the wealthy.
Neptune
(sensitivity, inspiration, escapism, dreams, trust) transits 17 degrees
Aquarius, repeating where it was in April, June and July 2005 as well as
February and October 2006. Neptune relates to intangibles such as
imagination, inspiration, art and creative writing as well as prayer,
healing, dreams and escapism. Birthdays most affected are February 6th,
May 7th-8th, August 9th-10th and November 9th as well as charts with
planets or angles around 17 degrees Leo, Taurus, Aquarius or Scorpio.
During the retrograde of Neptune (May thru October 2006) was an
excellent time to release addictive habits, attitudes or behaviors.
Neptune transits bring a lack of focus or direction, a sense of drifting
or the inability to see a disappointment, betrayal, error or weakness
until it’s too late. It dissolves the past in order to make space for
the future. On the positive side this can be a time for healing, faith,
psychic insights and artistic creativity. Under Neptune in Aquarius you
can develop intuition, musical talents, practice meditation and pay more
attention to your own inner guidance. You may also need to watch your
back and balance faith with fact to see events clearly, not with wishful
thinking or being attached to the dream or vision of what you think
might have been.
Pluto (power,
control, resources, transformation) transits 24 to 25 degrees
Sagittarius, repeating where it was in January, June and July of 2006
and does not repeat these degrees in 2007. Most affected are birthdays
around December 17th-18th, June 16th-17th, March 15th-16th and September
18th-19th as well as charts with planets or angles around 24 to 25
degrees Sagittarius, Gemini, Pisces and Virgo. From January to November
2006 they have experienced major changes in life such as marriage,
divorce, relocation and/or career and financial challenges. These are
times in life when counseling or therapy could be required and
self-awareness/motivational work found very valuable. Now that Pluto has
completed the 24th degree and is three-quarters of the way thru the sign
of Sagittarius, it has brought focus, transformation and paradigm shifts
in travel, education, travel, religion, politics and global trade.
