Preparing For 2008

 by Shaheerah Stephens

About 90 days before your birthday, you begin to feel an energetic shift. You are transitioning from one energy pattern to another. About 90 days before a new year, we are also feeling an energetic shift. It’s time now to prepare for 2008. 2008 is a one (1) year. When you add 2 + 0+0+8 together you get 10 and adding 1+0 you get 1. So it’s a 10/1 year.

2007 was a 27/9 year or a 9 year. The nine energy brought about endings, transitions and massive change in general. Change feels like death and grieving a loss is healthy. Many of us were catapulted into unknown territory. We feel the climate of uncertainty and proliferation of chaotic static that threatens our peace. If you haven’t seriously focused on releasing, now is the time to let it all go!

Do not hold on to anything that isn’t serving you in a positive way. All you have to do is be willing for change to occur and the Universe will begin orchestrating who and what needs to be transformed or moved.

To everything there is a season and we are in the season of elimination, letting go, cleansing and clearing. Take a look a nature. It is always giving us the cues for what we need to be about. Nature is releasing, the trees are almost bare. Nature is making room for the newness of next spring.

We are triune beings; spirit, soul and body. As we prepare for this new energy of the 1 or 10/1 energy, let’s consider preparation of all three levels. We are then preparing holistically.

Our spiritual cleansing is forgiveness. Radical forgiveness is a practice I offer to the world, not only to prepare for 2008 but as preparation for the enjoyment of the rest of your life. We have been so ensnared in judgment, fear, shame, unworthiness and blame as a culture. Cancer is an epidemic and all dis-eases have spiritual components. Radical forgiveness has allowed many to experience profound, spontaneous healing. You can begin the process just by visiting www.radicalforgiveness.com. We also welcome you to come to our center for support and assistance through our classes. Forgiveness is the beginning of our letting go process and it will impact you favorably mentally, emotionally and physically.

Forgiving can be a struggle for some. Our egos fight to stay in charge. The ego is tenacious. Always thinking ahead, it keeps you out of the only time that there is, the precious now. It’s always busy; comparing, competing and manipulating. It’s constantly trying to orchestrate pre-determining outcomes and always, always, always creates drama and distractions.

The ego must be recognized and a choice made not to allow it to consume our lives. At each moment we get to choose peace or the ego (fear). The ego points out what is wrong with you and others. Letting go is a choice and happiness is a choice. I saw the movie, The Way of the Peaceful Warrior and I loved it. In the movie, there’s a powerful scene where he let’s the ego go. It’s worth you watching and learning about how the ego can create havoc in our lives. We are totally unconscious because our culture keeps us asleep with TV, sex, spending money, taking drugs, chasing fame and fortune. He found out who he was by going within.

We have soul work to do. Charles Fillmore says that soul encompasses the entire mind, the super conscious, subconscious and conscious. Mental release is also assisted through forgiveness. Meditation gives you the opportunity to see what is on your mind. It’s important to practice sitting in the silence a few minutes each day. It’s important to have times of refreshing with Source, just stopping to recognize that there is an Infinite Power awaiting your presence. The Source speaks to us through thoughts, ideas, feelings and the still small voice.

We must not leave out the importance of cleansing our temples. How and what we eat impacts the way we think and our ability to even hear Spirit/Source.

Many years ago I had the awesome opportunity to hear lectures from Dick Gregory’s teacher, Dr. Alvenia Fulton. She said, “It’s quite simple; fruits cleanse and vegetables heal.” Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables and drinks lots of purified water. Cut back on sugar, white flour products and everything that is “man-made.” Nature has provided us everything that we need to ingest in our bodies.

Unforgiveness creates blockages in the body which creates disease. When I eat healthy, I have a pain-free body. When I stretch and walk, I have incredible creativity and energy. Take care of your temple. Love your cells.

As you prepare for 2008, realize that 2008 is a 10/1 or 1 year. It’s a time of new beginnings for all of us. It’s a year of abundance. Ten is the number of increase.
Ten is a number that represents a higher octave. Those who are vibrating at high levels and frequencies will receive spiritual insight and guidance and always be in the right place at the right time and prospering. Choosing to be joyful and in the now moment will allow this to happen.

2008 is a year that will welcome our creative pursuits and endeavors. This is a fabulous year for those of you who are in music, painting, writing, dance, healing, construction and any other creative expression. Write that song, book or play. Submit your designs early in 2008.

This the year for powerful (8) collaborations (2). If you know people are doing what you are doing and you respect and admire them, why not do a few collaborative projects? You don’t have to merge your businesses, but what about doing something fun and creative together?

Prepare now for whatever creative project you’d like to present to the world next year. Preparation precedes manifestation. Wayne Dyer says this, “See yourself surrounded by the conditions you desire.” We are here to participate with Source. Nature abhors a vacuum. Once you make room, something is coming to fill up the empty space. You determine the quality of what will come with how you feel, think and act. When you are feeling good, you are attracting good into those empty spaces. If you are feeling sad, mad or depressed you are attracting experiences that will make you madder and sadder.

Release worn out things. If you can’t wear it, release it. If you have three sizes in your closet, keep the size you can wear right now. Stop holding on to “stuff.” The “holding on” energy will pervade throughout your entire life. Your body will hold on to toxins and your finances will be clogged because at the base of holding on, is the energy of fear.

Simplify your life. Plan this fall to spend time with family and friends. Let go of worn out relationships. Affirmations will assist you in channeling the releasing energy into the area of your life where release is needed. Try these, “I fully and freely release everybody and everything that is not a part of the divine design of my life.” “Everyone and everything that is not a part of the divine design of my life, now fully and freely releases me.”
