Star
Gazing (Astrology)
OCTOBER 2007
A major planetary relationship
occurs on the 9th. It is Uranus in Pisces square Jupiter in Sagittarius.
This is the third occurrence of this aspect. The first was on January
22nd and the second on May 10th, 2007. Jupiter in its own sign relates
to travel, religion, beliefs, trade, opportunity and optimism. Uranus in
Pisces relates to social revolution, surprise, upset and using
innovation and technology to meet the needs of the masses. The square
relationship indicates the stress created between these two principles.
Those who adhere only to a particular belief system, religion, attitude
or tradition may be helping their own group, but are they doing what is
right for all society or humanity? This setup can also indicate unusual
weather patterns. There should be some connection between January, May
and October in regard to these issues. Jupiter also sextiles Neptune on
the 30th, just before it goes direct on the 31st. This gives a feeling
of hope that some positive things will happen in politics and for
society. The station of Neptune to go direct is often associated with
excessive rain and floods. The Sun in Libra until the 23rd supports
connecting people with each other thru their talents in cooperation,
negotiation and arbitration. This is the positive expression of Libra.
The negative use of Libran traits is the opposition of one person or
group to another in war, conflict, disagreement, opposition and lack of
cooperation and support. The Sun in Scorpio after the 23rd supports
passion, motivation, commitment, power, manipulation, control, financial
resources, sexuality, sharing and other people’s values and opinions.
Scorpio can aspire to the highest ideals or give in to the basest of
desires. It plans and strategizes to achieve goals.
Mercury (communication, writing,
contracts, commerce, workers) transits Scorpio where it turns retrograde
on the 12th at 9 degrees. In Scorpio Mercury is passionate, strategic
and driven. It can also be controlling and pushy. Mercury moves back
into Libra on the 24th and turns direct on November 1st at 23 degrees
Libra. The setup of the retrograde was on September 21st when an issue
was brought up to be worked on during October and November. The exit
phase of the retrograde is from November 1st to the 17th. The
Libra/Scorpio issue is cooperation vs. control and sharing vs. greed.
Venus (values, money, social
connections) in Leo until the 8th values parties, weddings, enjoyment,
entertainment and performing. It completes the shadow of its retrograde,
which spanned from July 27th to September 8th, on October 11th. Venus in
Virgo after the 8th values service, routine, order, planning, timelines,
calendars, health and doing what is practical. The Leo/Virgo retrograde
addressed creativity vs. practicality, leadership vs. service and show
vs. preparation.
Mars (initiation, energy,
aggression) transits Cancer all month, connecting energy, vitality and
possibly aggression to the sign of family, emotions, community and
country. It expends energy on the family but can ignite political
passion for the group one identifies with – country, community, religion
or special interest. Mars will turn retrograde on November 15th and stay
retrograde until January 30th. It entered the shadow on the retrograde
on September 16th. The retrograde will relate to issues which were
brought up around this time. The Mars retrograde is a combination of
Gemini and Cancer – intellect vs. emotion/objective vs. subjective.
Jupiter (expansion, opportunity,
optimism, travel, education, foreign trade, religion, legal matters)
transits 14 to 19 degrees Sagittarius where it was in February, March
and April thru June 2007. Jupiter is in Sagittarius thru mid-December
2007. Birthdays most affected this month are December 6th-10th,
September 6th-11th, June 4th-9th and March 4th-9th as well as persons or
companies whose charts have planets or angles from 14 to 19 degrees
Sagittarius, Gemini, Virgo or Pisces. Jupiter in its own sign brings
issues of and opportunity thru education, travel, foreign countries,
legal matters, relocation, politics, religion, trade, advertising,
public relations, marriage, graduation and freedom.
Saturn (structure, foundation,
responsibility) transits 3 to 6 degrees Virgo, where it will retrograde
in February/March 2008 and repeat in June/July 2008. The transit of
Saturn thru Virgo from September 2007 to July 2010 will affect those
born between 1958 and 1972. This is the generation born when Pluto was
in Virgo. Virgo relates to health, everyday routine and doing what is
practical, frugal and orderly in daily life. This month’s transit will
most directly affect those born August 26th-29th, February 22nd-26th,
November 26th-29th and May 24th-27th as well as those people or entities
whose charts have planets or angles from 3 to 6 degrees Virgo, Pisces,
Gemini or Sagittarius. Saturn’s last transit thru Virgo was 1978 to
1980. Review what was happening in your life about 30 years ago, during
the half-cycle of 14-15 years (in Pisces), the quarter cycle of 7 years
(in Gemini) and 21 years, the third quarter cycle (in Sagittarius) to
understand what Saturn in Virgo from September 2007 to July 2010 will
mean for you.
Uranus (freedom, rebellion,
surprise, invention technology) retrogrades at 15 degrees Pisces where
it was in March and will repeat in December 2007 and January 2008. Most
affected are birthdays of March 5th-6th, June 5th-6th, September 7th-8th
and December 6th-7th as well as persons or companies whose charts have
planets or angles around 15 degrees Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or
Sagittarius. Between March 2007 and January 2008 they will need freedom,
experience chaos or make radical changes. Uranus will be in Pisces until
2011 and supports social revolution. During 1920, the start of the
previous Uranus in Pisces, Congress granted women the right to vote and
the “Roaring 20s” began. Uranus in Pisces supports artistic creativity
with innovation and intellect with sensitivity, leading to modern ways
of helping those in need and suggesting that the only way that humanity
will survive is by caring for each other and doing what is best for all,
addressing humanitarian and global issues such as disaster relief,
global warming, health care and political decisions made for the good of
the masses, not just special interests and the wealthy.
Neptune (sensitivity, inspiration,
escapism, dreams, trust) retrogrades at 19 degrees Aquarius, where it
was in April, June and July 2006, February 2007 and will repeat in
November 2007. Neptune turned retrograde on May 24th and turns direct on
the 31st. From May to October, during the retrograde, was an excellent
time to release addictive attitudes, behaviors or habits. Neptune
relates to intangibles such as art, imagination, inspiration, dance and
creative writing as well as prayer, healing, dreams and escapism.
Birthdays most affected are February 8th, May 10th, August 12th and
November 12th as well as charts with planets or angles around 19 degrees
Aquarius, Leo, Taurus or Scorpio. Neptune transits bring a lack of focus
or direction, a sense of drifting or the inability to see an error,
disappointment, betrayal or weakness until it’s too late. They dissolve
the past in order to open space for the future. On the positive side
this can be a time for faith, healing, psychic insights and artistic
creativity. Under Neptune in Aquarius you can develop intuition, musical
talents, practice meditation and pay more attention to your own inner
guidance. You may also need to watch your back and balance faith with
fact to see events clearly, not with wishful thinking or being attached
to the dream or vision of what you think might have been.
Pluto (power, control, resources,
transformation) transits 26 to 27 degrees Sagittarius where it was
February-May and December 2006 as well as July/August of 2007. Most
affected are birthdays of December 18th, June 17th-18th, March 16th-17th
and September 19th as well as charts with planets or angles from 26 to
27 degrees Sagittarius, Gemini, Pisces and Virgo. Between February 2006
and October of 2007 they will experience major changes in life such as
marriage, divorce, relocation, career and/or financial challenges. These
are times when counseling or therapy may be required and
self-awareness/motivational work necessary. Now that Pluto has completed
the 24th degree and is three-quarters of the way thru Sagittarius, it
has brought focus, transformation and paradigm shifts in travel,
education, travel, religion, politics and global trade. It has also
brought religion to the forefront of world politics, war, conflict and
the need to control.
