Star
Gazing (Astrology)
SEPTEMBER 2007
Saturn enters Virgo on the
2nd to stay until July of 2010 (see Saturn). A Solar Eclipse occurs on
the 11th at 18 degrees Virgo. The last time an eclipse fell at this
degree was September 11, 1988. The duration of effect or influence of a
Solar Eclipse is about one year. Wherever the eclipse falls in a
person’s or an entity’s chart indicates an issue to be worked on during
the next year (see Sun Signs). The 18th degree of Virgo is near Neptune
in the USA chart. Neptune rules belief, faith and ideals but also being
deceived, cheated or devalued. During the next year, the American people
can find out who really supports us, how prepared we really are for
another terrorist attack and learn the effects of financial and
political “deals” made of which the public may not generally be aware.
Pluto turns direct on the 7th and Venus on the 8th. After the 8th and
until October 12th, will be the fewest retrograde planets for most of
this year. This is a good time to register a business, get married,
begin a new venture and for companies and entities to tighten their
operations. Venus relates to money, values, self-esteem and social
connection. Pluto relates to resources, finances, manipulation and
control. Pluto is the “higher octave” of Venus, meaning that personal
values should connect to a wider scope of goals and the way that talents
and abilities are used for the greater good. The Sun in Virgo until the
23rd supports organizing, planning, the creation of timelines and
tracking details in preparation for return to the normal everyday
routine of work, school and personal interests. The Sun in Libra after
the 23rd supports cooperation, negotiation, arbitration and connecting
people with each other thru their talents. This is the positive
expression of Libra. The negative use of Libran traits is the opposition
of one person or group to another in war, conflict, disagreement,
opposition and lack of cooperation and support.
Mercury (communication,
writing, contracts, commerce, workers) in Virgo until the 5th attends to
plans, schedules, preparation and the practical, everyday needs for
return to work and school. In Libra from the 5th to the 27th, Mercury
connects with others thru communication, cooperation and negotiation.
Mercury in Scorpio after the 27th is more passionate and driven. On the
22nd Mercury enters the shadow of the next retrograde (10/12 to 11/1).
Venus (values, money,
social connections) retrogrades in Leo where it turns direct on the 8th
at 16 degrees. Venus in Leo values parties, weddings, enjoyment,
entertainment and performing. It entered Virgo on July 14th where it
turned retrograde on the 27th. On June 24th Venus entered the shadow of
its retrograde which spans from July 27th to September 8th. The
Leo/Virgo retrograde addresses creativity vs. practicality, leadership
vs. service and show vs. preparation. Since Venus moves more slowly than
Mercury, its retrograde is longer. The completion phase is 9/8 to 10/11.
Mars (initiation, energy,
aggression) in Gemini until the 28th adds energy, spontaneity and
passion to communication. Mars enters Cancer on the 28th connecting
energy, vitality and possibly aggression to the sign of family,
emotions, community and country. It expends energy on the family but can
ignite political passion for the group one identifies with – country,
community or religion.
Jupiter (expansion,
opportunity, optimism, travel, education, foreign trade, religion, legal
matters) transits 10 to 14 degrees Sagittarius where it was in January,
June and July 2007. Jupiter is in Sagittarius thru mid-December 2007.
Birthdays most affected this month are December 2nd-5th, June 1st-4th,
September 3rd-6th and March 1st-4th as well as companies or persons
whose charts have planets or angles from 10 to 14 degrees Sagittarius,
Gemini, Virgo or Pisces. Jupiter in its own sign brings issues of and
opportunity thru education, travel, foreign countries, relocation,
politics, religion, trade, public relations, legal matters and freedom.
Saturn (structure,
foundation, responsibility) completes the last degree of Leo and enters
Virgo on the 2nd. It will repeat the first three degrees of Virgo
between March and June 2008. Saturn has brought career changes and
shifts in responsibility to Leos in addition to restructuring in the
house of the chart which Leo rules or where planets in Leo are found, in
particular those born between 1938 and 1958. Saturn in Virgo will affect
those born between 1958 and 1972. Virgo relates to health, everyday
routine and doing what is orderly and practical in daily life. This
month’s transit most directly affects those born August 23rd-27th,
February 19th-22nd, November 22nd-26th and May 20th-24th as well as
those whose charts have planets or angles from 29 degrees Leo to 3
Virgo, 29 Aquarius to 3 Pisces, 29 Taurus to 3 Gemini and 29 Scorpio to
3 Sagittarius. Saturn’s last transit thru Leo was 1975 to 1978 and Virgo
1978 to 1980. Review what was happening in your life about 30 years ago,
during the half-cycle of 14-15 years (in Pisces), the quarter cycle of 7
years (in Gemini) and 21 years, the third quarter cycle (in Sagittarius)
to understand what Saturn in Virgo from September 2007 to July 2010 will
mean for you.
Uranus (freedom,
rebellion, surprise, invention technology) retrogrades from 17 to 15
degrees Pisces where it was in March and April 2007 and will repeat in
January/February of 2008. Most affected are birthdays of March 6th-7th,
June 6th-7th, September 8th-10th and December 8th-9th as well as persons
or companies whose charts have planets or angles from 15 to 17 degrees
Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius. Between March 2007 and February
2008 they will need freedom, experience chaos or make radical changes.
Uranus will be in Pisces until 2011 and supports social revolution.
During 1920, the start of the previous Uranus in Pisces, Congress
granted women the right to vote and the “Roaring 20’s” began. Uranus in
Pisces supports artistic creativity with innovation and intellect with
sensitivity, leading to modern ways of helping those in need and
suggesting that the only way that humanity will survive is by caring for
each other and doing what is best for all, addressing humanitarian and
global issues such as disaster relief, global warming, health care and
political decisions made for the good of the masses, not just special
interests and the wealthy.
Neptune (sensitivity,
inspiration, escapism, dreams, trust) retrogrades from 20 to 19 degrees
Aquarius, where it was from April thru June 2006, February 2007 and will
repeat in December 2007. Neptune turned retrograde on May 24th. During
the retrograde (May-October) is an excellent time to release addictive
attitudes, behaviors or habits. Neptune relates to intangibles such as
art, imagination, inspiration, dance and creative writing as well as
prayer, healing, dreams and escapism. Birthdays most affected are
February 8th-9th, May 10th-11th, August 12th-13th and November 12th as
well as charts with planets or angles around 19 to 20 degrees Aquarius,
Leo, Taurus or Scorpio. Neptune transits bring a lack of focus or
direction, a sense of drifting or the inability to see an error,
disappointment, betrayal or weakness until it’s too late. They dissolve
the past in order to open space for the future. On the positive side
this can be a time for faith, healing, psychic insights and artistic
creativity. Under Neptune in Aquarius you can develop intuition, musical
talents, practice meditation and pay more attention to your own inner
guidance. You may also need to watch your back and balance faith with
fact to see events clearly, not with wishful thinking or being attached
to the dream or vision of what you think might have been.
Pluto (power, control,
resources, transformation) retrogrades at 26 degrees Sagittarius where
it goes direct on the 7th. This degree was transited in February, May
and December 2006 as well as August 2007. Most affected are birthdays of
December 18th, June 17th-18th, March 17th and September 19th as well as
charts with planets or angles around 26 degrees Sagittarius, Gemini,
Pisces and Virgo. Between February 2006 and September of 2007 they will
experience major changes in life such as marriage, divorce, relocation,
career and/or financial challenges. These are times when counseling or
therapy may be required and self-awareness/motivational work necessary.
Now that Pluto has completed the 24th degree and is three-quarters of
the way thru Sagittarius, it has brought focus, transformation and
paradigm shifts in travel, education, travel, religion, politics and
global trade. It has brought religion to the forefront of world
politics, war, conflict and the need to control.
