Gazing (Astrology)
SEPTEMBER
2006
There are two eclipses in
September. A lunar eclipse occurs on the 7th at 15 degrees Pisces, which
is the sign of dedication, service, sensitivity, caring and
spirituality. A solar eclipse occurs on the 22nd at 29 degrees Virgo,
which is the sign of health, planning, preparedness and specializing.
According to Dane Rudhyar in An Astrological Mandala, the 15th degree of
Pisces describes: “… an occult brotherhood. The concept of group value
dominating the scene” and the 29th degree of Virgo describes: “...each
individual and each group or racial unit, must come in its own way to
the root knowledge which provides the only safe foundation for rebirth.”
These could certainly be applied to the situation in the Middle East.
Eclipses, according to ancient astrology, can portend the rise or fall
of leaders and important events in history. The average duration of
effect is one month prior and approximately six months after for lunar
eclipses and a year for Solar eclipses, depending on the larger cycles
to which the eclipses belong.
Jupiter squares Neptune on
the 24th. This is the third occurrence of this combination which is a
“gamblers aspect.” The first and second were in January and March. It
can mean high hopes, spiritual vision, foolhardiness or some combination
of these. Jupiter tends to expansion and Neptune rules oil; so the
expansion of oil prices.
The Sun in Virgo, until
the 23rd, supports organization, planning, details and analysis. Virgos
like being prepared and supporting others’ activities. Attention turns
to lists, calendars, timelines and schedules for everyday living. This
is the time for classes, group agendas and corporate year-end
performance reviews.
The Sun in Libra after the
23rd supports negotiation, arbitration, collaboration, cooperation,
partnering, balance, peace and harmony. This energy would help opposing
sides of a situation come to an agreement or at least be willing to
enter into mediation.
Mercury
(communications,
writing, contracts, commerce) in Virgo until the 12th considers details,
analysis, organization, plans, doing what is practical and handling
everyday work and home arrangements. Mercury in Virgo can be picky,
nagging or fault finding if too focused on perfection. Mercury in Libra
after the 12th connects with others thru mediation, arbitration,
cooperation, collaboration, merging and partnering. This is the time of
year for interaction among students, societies and special-interest
groups.
Venus
(values, money, social connections) in Leo until the 6th values
performing, entertainment, sports, talents and hobbies. This energy adds
to the enjoyment over the holiday weekend. Also, anyone considering job
change or retirement may begin to view their hobbies and experience as a
way to support themselves and stay involved with others. Venus in Virgo
from the 6th to the 30th values order, organization, details, analysis
and standards. It joins Mercury in support of planning, preparation and
forecasting.
Mars
(initiation, energy, aggression) in Virgo until the 8th lends energy to
organization, analysis, details, plans and timing. It takes action to be
prepared and create order. Using calendars, lists, forecasts, timelines
and high standards Virgos support their goals and careers as well as
those with whom they live and for whom they work. Mars in Virgo can
cause tension when there is too much demand for perfection. Mars in
Libra after the 8th lends its energy and desire to partner, cooperate,
collaborate and merge. It can soften aggression and allow mediation and
arbitration.
Jupiter
(expansion, opportunity, optimism, travel, foreign trade, education,
religion, legal matters) transits 13-18 degrees Scorpio where it was
from January thru May 2006. Jupiter in Scorpio is a cycle of
opportunity, freedom, expansion or movement this month in particular for
those born November 6th-10th, May 4th-9th, August 6th-11th and February
2nd-7th as well as persons or entities whose charts have planets or
angles from 13 to 18 degrees Scorpio, Taurus, Leo or Aquarius. Jupiter
in Scorpio supports opportunity thru motivation, commitment, sharing,
saving, discharging debt, fiscal responsibility and supporting the
passions, talents and beliefs which make a person, company product or
idea unique.
Saturn
(structure, foundation, responsibility) transits 17 to 21 degrees Leo,
repeating where it was from February thru April (retrograde) and April
thru June (direct). Saturn has now reached the middle of Leo and has
brought career shifts and changes in responsibility to Leos as well as
restructuring in the house of the chart it rules or where planets in Leo
are found. Leo relates to royalty, leadership, entertainment,
performing, children and creative talents. During Saturn in Leo hobbies
can be developed and turned into businesses. This month’s transit most
directly affects those born August 10th-14th, February 6th-10th,
November 10th-13th and May 8th-12th as well as those whose charts have
planets or angles from 17 to 21 degrees Leo, Aquarius, Taurus and
Scorpio. Saturn’s last transit thru Leo was 1975 to 1978. Review what
was happening in your life about 30 years ago, during the half-cycle of
14-15 years (in Aquarius), the quarter cycle of 7 years (in Taurus) and
21 years, the third quarter cycle (in Scorpio) to understand what Saturn
in Leo from July 2005 to September 2007 will mean for you.
Uranus
(freedom, rebellion, surprise, invention technology) retrogrades from 12
to 11 degrees Pisces, repeating where it was in March and April 2006 and
where it will repeat in January 2007. Most affected are birthdays from
March 2nd-3rd, September 4th-5th, June 2nd-3rd and December 4th-5th as
well as persons or companies whose charts have planets or angles from
11-12 degrees Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sag. Between March 2006 and
January 2007 they will need freedom, experience chaos or make radical
changes. Uranus will be in Pisces until 2011 and supports social
revolution. During 1920, the start of the previous Uranus thru Pisces,
Congress granted women the right to vote. It was the “roaring 20’s”.
Uranus in Pisces supports artistic creativity with innovation and
intellect with sensitivity, leading to modern ways of helping those in
need and suggesting that the only way that humanity will survive is by
caring for each other and doing what is best for all, addressing
humanitarian and global issues such as disaster relief and political
decisions made for the good of the masses, not just special interests
and the wealthy.
Neptune
(sensitivity, inspiration, escapism, dreams, trust) retrogrades at 17
degrees Aquarius, repeating where it was from April thru June 2005 and
where it will transit in December 2006. Neptune relates to intangibles
such as imagination, inspiration, art and creative writing as well as
prayer, healing, dreams and escapism. Birthdays most affected are
February 6th, May 7th, August 10th and November 9th-10th as well as
charts with planets or angles near 17 degrees Leo, Taurus, Aquarius or
Scorpio. During Neptune’s retrograde (May thru October 2006) is an
excellent time to release addictive habits, attitudes or behaviors.
Neptune transits bring a lack of focus or direction, a sense of drifting
or the inability to see a disappointment, betrayal, error or weakness
until it’s too late. It dissolves the past in order to make space for
the future. On the positive side this can be a time for healing, faith,
psychic insights and artistic creativity. Under Neptune in Aquarius you
can develop intuition, musical talents, practice meditation and pay more
attention to your own inner guidance. You may also need to “watch your
back” and balance faith with fact to see events clearly, not with just
wishful thinking or remaining attached to the dream or vision of what
you think might have been.
Pluto
(power, control, resources, transformation) retrogrades at 24 degrees
Sagittarius where it goes direct on the 4th. Pluto also transited 24
degrees in February, April, May and December of 2005. Birthdays
influenced most are December 16th, June 15th, March 14th and September
17th as well as charts with planets or angles around 24 degrees Virgo,
Pisces, Sagittarius and Gemini. From February 2005 to September 2006
they have experienced major changes in life such as marriage, divorce,
relocation, career changes or financial problems. These are times in
life when counseling or therapy could be required and self-awareness
and/or motivational work found very valuable. Now that Pluto has passed
the 24th degree and is now three-quarters of the way thru the sign of
Sagittarius, it has brought focus, transformation and paradigm shifts in
travel, education, travel, religion, politics and global trade.
